Another Blog Closer To Graduation...

Happy December! It is crazy how fast this year is going by. This week I was busy working on finishing my holiday cards, catching up with my other classes, and getting ready for Winter Formal! For my senior mastery, I made last minute adjustments to the submission contest posters. Then I printed them out and hung them up around the school. Mr. Flip and I also discussed possible sponsorships and how to recruit.. Read More

Happy Monday! This may be the only time I ever put the words ‘happy’ and ‘monday’ together, but since we only have two days until Thanksgiving break, I am happy! We are blogging on a Monday today because Ms. DeSimone wanted us to be able to reflect on the video we watched in advisory on Friday. I will talk about my thoughts on the video and the lesson later on. For my senior.. Read More

This week I worked on fixing my Senior Mastery Exhibition and Proposal, as well as updating my Timeline. Since I changed my mastery a few months into school, I had already created all those pieces for my old mastery. Updating them was not too hard, just a little time consuming. It had to be done, though. Mr. Flip and I only met once this week, but during that time I worked on a.. Read More

This week was one of the best all year, because it was spirit week! Each day, the hallways were packed with different unique and amazing outfits that the students in our school put together. Another reason why I am so glad I switched over to the Academy! I am still playing catch up with my senior mastery since I decided to switch my exhibition idea. I have yet to update my exhibition..   This was the first week that the temperature feel below 75, and it was great! As the season changes, fall brings in many things… including allergies!! I have a really weak immune system, so I get sick all the time. I have had a constant sinus infection/stomach bug/ virus since last week, and it kept me out of school a few days this week too. I hate missing class because with projects.. Read More

This week I made a big decision to actually change my senior mastery. About two weeks ago, Mr.Flipp asked me to be in charge of the school’s literary magazine. I was so excited to be asked to do something for the school that I said yes before even really knowing what a literary magazine was. We discussed that I would stay after school two days a week to work on the magazine,.. Read More

This has been the longest week ever! To say that I am tired would be an understatement. All I know is I will not be waking up before 10:00 this weekend. This week was also kind of fun, because Wednesday was my 18th birthday! Compared to the last two years, this one broke the curse of unlucky birthdays. It was also Ms. DeSimone’s birthday, so we had greek treats (not sure how to.. Read More

This week Mrs.DeSimone gave us a new project, to design a new logo for the South Carolina Human Affairs Commision. Their current logo is a very abstract shape, which they claim is two hands holding up the sun, but to me it looks like a beetle. After I had finalized my state fair entry piece, I began working on my logo design. From the emails Mrs. D and the contact from the Affairs.. Read More

This week I had to finish working on my senior mastery timeline. I read the rubric wrong, so the first time I typed my timeline up I did it differently than I was supposed to. After I fixed my timeline and finished my proposal, I moved on and continued working on my state fair entry. I was really behind on my state fair piece, so I had to come up with an idea.. Read More

First blog of the year!! As I sit here being asked to reflect on my feelings as a senior, it hits me that this is my final year of high school. It is still surreal to think I have spent my whole life on a schedule dictated by the public schools system, but after these 180 days- I am free! Well, not technically free because four years of college await me. Anyways, I.. Read More
